By KALOBWE BWALYATHE death toll in the Mafinga road traffic accident has risen to 11 from nine.Nine people died on the spot among them a juvenile along the Isoka-Muyombe road in Mafinga after the vehicle failed to descend Chilumbi Hills, rolled down and overturned.Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the motor vehicle, a Mitsubishi Fighter was being driven by Peter Simukoko aged 35, who lost control and over turned. It was carrying 30 people illegally,Mr Hamoonga disclosed that the accident happened around 22:00 hours about 80 kilometres east of Isoka when the vehicle’s braking system failed while descending Chilumbi Hills.“The driver and 17 other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Isoka District Hospital where they are receiving treatment while the bodies of the dead are in the mortuary awaiting postmortem,” said Mr Hamoonga.
