HIPC IS BACK ON THE SCENE: AND ZAMBIA IS ON THE LISTDear Editor,COUNTRIES that featured with Zambia 20 years ago on the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) including Ghana, Tanzania, Ethiopia and 30 others are back on the IMF and World Bank’s heavily indebted poor countries’ list.Zambia is on the list.Going by the experience of 2000s, it pays to be on the HIPC list.May be it is just as well for President Hakainde Hichilema to borrow some more to find space on the top 10 list.With our previous HIPC experience,I am sure it would not be too difficult to reach the Completion Point.What do think?PETER SINKAMBA.
