By BUUMBA CHIMBULUTHE Finnish Government has pledged to continue supporting Zambia’s economic growth by promoting critical areas such as accelerated growth for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).In line with the Zambian government’s priorities, Finland is focused on strengthening the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem, according to the Finnish Ambassador, Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury.Ms Suomela-Chowdhury said Finland-Zambia relations focussed strongly on the private sector, with the Accelerated Growth for SMEs in Zambia programme.This, she said, was because a vibrant private sector was the foundation of sustainable development, and essential for securing jobs and livelihoods.She said this when celebrating the annual Finnish Week of Business in Zambia. “Our role in the Summit should be seen in the context of Finland’s many private sector activities in Zambia.
