A POLITICAL ECONOMY APPRAISAL OF THE UPND ADMINISTRATION 2022 NATIONAL BUDGETBy DR MBITA CHITALATHE macroeconomic indicators that the UPND want to attain in their 2022 budget estimates presented by the Finance and National Planning Minister, Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane in his budget speech does not remove Zambia from continued dependency that the country has been subjected to since 1964.Projected GrowthThe projected GDP growth of 3.5 percent for 2022 as compared to the PF Administration GDP growth of 3.3 percent for 2021 fiscal year cannot enable Zambia to grow her economy.This challenge is exacerbated by Zambia’s population growth which is over 3.3 percent annually.
