By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSAUPND candidate Elina Muteto has withdrawn the petition against PF’s Mkaika Member of Parliament Peter Phiri, as she is incapable of prosecuting the case due to the husband’s ill health.Ms Muteto in her petition, had asked the Lusaka High Court to nullify the results for the Mkaika seat in Eastern Province alleging election malpractice.“The reason for the withdrawal is that the petitioner’s spouse has met with serious health challenges and is now in and out of hospital and as such she is not in a proper mindset to prosecute the petition as her husband requires care around the clock. It has become expedient for the petitioner to withdraw the petition,” she submitted. She polled 6, 098 votes against MrPhiri who got 10, 080.
