By JOHN KOMBEThe government has the power to revoke any title for land that is meant to benefit the community, Chongwe constituency Member of Parliament, Sylvia Masebo has said.Ms. Masebo made the observation when she addressed residents of Silverest area in Ntandabale ward of Chongwe.This was in response to residents who appealed to her to intervene in a matter in which a former minister allegedly acquired a 1.373 hectares which was earmarked for the construction of a clinic.Ms Masebo sympathised with the community who bemoaned the lack of a clinic in the area and admitted that the area needed a clinic so as to reduce the distance that people cover to access health care services at the nearest clinics in Chelstone and Chongwe central.She promised to engage the Ministry of Lands to ascertain how the plot in question was acquired.ms Masebo said that the land would be given back to the community should it be […]
