By NATION REPORTERActing Kitwe District Commissioner Isidore Tebulu has called on men to help intensify efforts being made to stop child stunting by ensuring that their pregnant wives are provided with balanced meals.Mr Tebulu has also encouraged the man to maintain supporting their wives even after delivery, in order to enhance the supplements given to the newly born child, reports ZANIS.ZANIS reports that Mr Tebulu observed that the participation of men in the fight against child stunting is critical, adding that they are often the only provider of food supplements in a home, and thus the family depends on them for a healthy living.He was speaking when he officiated at the handover of bicycles to community volunteers in the district, who have been engaged to help curb child stunting, under the Scaling Up Nutrition Technologies Assistance (SUNTA) programme, US funded programme.He observed the rising numbers of child stunting in the district, and further encouraged parents […]
