By BUUMBA CHIMBULULUSAKA Securities Exchange (LuSE) total market capitalisation last year hit K57.5 billion in absolute terms despite four sectors registering the biggest reduction in capitalisation.In absolute terms, LuSE’s total market capitalisation was K57.5 billion in 2020 compared to K56.7 billion in 2019.This represents a growth of K846 million or 1.5 percent, according to PWC Zambia Country Senior Partner, Andrew Chibuye.Mr Chibuye said this in the PwC Zambia Listed Companies Analysis Report which looks at how businesses listed on the LuSE performed under the Covid-19 environment.ZCCM Investment Holdings recorded the largest gain in terms of market capitalisation during the year to 31 December 2020 with an increase of K1.66 billion to K6.24 billion, up from K4.58 billion on 31 December 2019.“Our analysis shows that 10 out of the 24 companies listed on LuSE accounted for 94.8 percent of the total market capitalisation in 2020.“This is in line with 2019 when 10 of the companies listed […]
