CELEBRATING OUR INDEPENDENCEZambian DNA joins the rest of the citizens in cerebrating our independence from the colonial yoke.We are also calling upon all opposition political parties not to shun this year’s independence celebrations as this is not a partisan event.Indeed, it’s worthy noting that as a people, we politically gained freedom to govern ourselves.However, political independence without economic emancipation is the same as not being liberated from colonialism as many Zambians are still living in abject poverty or struggling to put food on the table, afford to pay school fees, access quality heath services and most of all unemployment levels among the young people still remains high.Going forward, Zambians want political independence to translate into economic emancipation, a situation where all citizens enjoy the fruits of political independence.Issued by:ZAMBIAN DNA SPOKESPERSONSPUKI MULEMWA
