Water blues hit KalomoBy ANDREW MUKOMAERRATIC water supply has hit various parts of Kalomo district forcing residents to go without the commodity.Aaron Katongo and Elvah Kanimba, both residents of Mawaya Compound, complained that they had been experiencing the erratic water supply for the past two months now.They were speaking in separate interviews with the Daily Nation in Kalomo, Southern province.Mr Kanimba said the situation had also negatively affected their operations while livestock farmers were equally adversely affected.Mr Katongo also said there was need for an urgent to redress the situation because water was a basic human need.A check found residents fetching water from the nearby Sichikwenkwe River for use for washing dishes and laundry.Barbra Chikobela, a resident of Macraymond Compound, expressed the same sentiments and called on the Southern Water and Sanitation Company (SWASCO) to move in quickly and rectify the problem.But Kalomo District SWASCO Branch Manager Moses Mulawo said he had not received any […]
