By KETRA KALUNGARegulatory bodies should continuously improve the process of issuing permits and licenses to quicken commencement of business in the energy sector, says energy expert, Johnstone Chikwanda.Mr. Chikwanda said the long process of issuing permits and licences was a hindrance to development as it delays commencement of business and job creation in the country.He said in an interview the new government has also expressed concern over the matter hence the need for regulatory authorities to consolidate permits and licenses to help promote business in the country for economic growth.“President Hakainde Hichilema is concerned that the process takes too long which he said is a major worry so Iam encouraging different statutory bodies to find ways and means to shorten the process,” he said.Mr. Chikwanda said the local authorities, Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) and the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) as the regulator should ensure that they improve upon the processes.He further urged the energy […]
