By NATION REPORTERA 27-YEAR-OLD woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday drowned in the Kafue River as she was trying to position herself to take a selfie.The woman arrived in the country from the DRC in July, this year to visit her brother-in-law in Lusaka.On Saturday, the woman in the company of her friend travelled to Kafue to attend a traditional marriage ceremony at Kafue Boys Secondary School.Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said Police in Kafue received a report of drowning from Mr Alex Mwansa of Munali Road in Meanwood near Chamba Valley in Lusaka that his sister-n-law, Martine Mbwaya Misakabu had drowned.Ms Katongo said after the ceremony, Ms Misakabu together with seven others went to Kafue River cliff for an adventure at around 13:00 hours.She said the team went to the edge of the river to take snaps and that it was at that point that the woman tried to take a selfie.As […]
