By NATION REPORTERSCHOOLS will reopen on July 8, 2021 for term two and no additional fees should be charged, Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Jobbicks Kalumba has said.And Dr Kalumba has announced Covid-19 preventive measures that should be adhered to after reopening and guidelines for resuming classes.He said in a letter addressed to all Provincial Education Officer, District Education Board Secretaries and Head teachers that learning institutions should create more sessions to allow learners to be spaced out in classes.Dr Kalumba said classes could also alternate in reporting but that examination classes should have classes every day of the week.He directed teachers to ensure that learners were engaged constructively in school work the time they were home or not in classes through homework and other academic assignments.“They should also employ pedagogical approaches that foster accelerated learning,” said Dr Kalumba.He said pupil to teacher contact time could be reduced were necessary to ensure […]
