By KETRA KALUNGAVICE President Inonge Wina has challenged the church to rise up and help the government end acts of political violence taking place in the country.Ms. Wina said the church should take centre stage in ending the violence because they have authority over the powerful forces pushing the country into political instability.She was speaking in Kabwe yesterday when she met the clergy from Kabwe ministers’ fellowship.Ms. Wina urged the church to remain steadfast in prayer and to condemn political leaders who would be seen to be perpetrating violence during the election campaign period.She said the church had a major role to play in ensuring that the country holds elections in an orderly and dignified manner.“Youths are being used as tools of violence because they are being brainwashed by people who perpetrate violence, I challenge Christian men and women to come out and stop the violence,” she said.Ms. Wina also urged the church to continue […]
