PARTY of National Unity and Progress President Highvie Hamududu has urged government to review mining taxation to have in place a simplified mineral royalty in order to unlock the potential of mining. Mr Hamududu said this was the resolution following the mining indaba which ended yesterday and emphasized that mining holds the bigger key for macro-economic stability. Mr Hamududu said there are investors ready to invest in the country if the mining indaba only came up with such a resolution which would change the narrative on the country’s economy.Mr Hamududu says the PNUP has been a proponent of an economic recovery plan where the game changer is mining which can contribute to the stabilization of the exchange rate for prices of goods and services to come down. He says the immediate action government can take to achieve this is to put in place measures to attract investments and production in the mines.
