By SIMON MUNTEMBAPRESIDENT Edgar Lungu was yesterday issued with the adoption certificate by the Patriotic Front as the party official Presidential Candidate in the August 12 general elections. He was handed the adoption certificate at Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Centre amid jubilation from party members who attended the event.Speaking during the handover of the certificate, PF Secretary General, Davies Mwila said as an elected party President, Mr Lungu was automatically the presidential candidate for the forthcoming elections as per PF constitution. “The party constitution states that the President of the party shall be elected at the general conference. The same constitution goes further that whoever shall be elected as party President shall automatically be the candidate of the party,” Mr Mwila said.Mr Mwila and PF national chairperson Samuel Mukupa signed the adoption certificate before handing it to President Lungu who also signed.
