By MICHAEL MIYOBAGovernment should increase the funding on social protection programs to fight poverty in Zambia, Chisamba District Commissioner Godfrey Kangwa has said.Speaking in an interview, Mr Kangwa observed that despite government implementing programs such as the Social Cash Transfer, there was more that needed to be done to protect the vulnerable citizens from poverty.Mr Kangwa said over 3700 individuals in his area have benefitted from the social cash transfer programme which protects the vulnerable from extreme poverty.
