THE Government is committed to promoting good governance in the country, says North-Western Province Permanent Secretary Willies Mangimela.Mr Mangimela said the Ministry of Justice through the governance department is mandated to promote the application of good governance principles and practices in the country.He said Government would continue to promote and strengthen inclusive governance through stakeholders’ consultations to strengthen partnerships to enhance accountability.He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Deputy permanent Secretary Emmanuel Chihili when he opened a governance stakeholder’s capacity building meeting held in Solwezi.“Effective stakeholder engagement can also improve efficiency and effectiveness of interventions,” Mr Mangimela said.He said stakeholders’ engagements provided an opportunity to state and non-state actors to give feedback and recommendations on governance interventions.Mr Mangimela commended stakeholders for the efforts being made in promoting adherence to good governance principles.Ministry of Justice social governance specialist, Elizabeth Silungwe, said Government’s plan was to create a conducive governance environment.This, she said, […]
