By MULENGA MUSONDACHIEF Chikanta has described as disrespectful the decision by UPND parliamentary candidate for Dundumwezi, Edgar Singombe, to shun a meeting he had called for all candidates participating in the August 12 elections in Kalomo.Chief Chikanta of the Tonga people said if Mr Singombe does not respect him, he should at least respect the throne.The chief was speaking in Dundumwezi during the meeting meant for candidates to introduce themselves to the electorate before they could move into full campaigns.“Politicians will come and go but chiefs will always be there, when a chief summons you to speak to the people show up!“Next time Singombe is summoned tell him he should come, even if he does not respect me, he should give respect to the throne,” the chief said.Chief Chikanta said he was tired of doing duties of a Member of Parliament as he appealed to the electorate not to vote on party lines but for […]
