Mr Chanda said the Authority embarked on a huge transformation exercise for the 2017 period that would result in ZRA being a responsive institution towards the needs of the country and its people. He said ZRA was working out a programme to enhance tax compliance among the members of the general public. “In 2017, there will be fundamental changes in the way the Authority administers taxes in order to increase tax compliance, and compliant taxpayers will be put on schemes that give them enough time to pay their taxes. “ZRA will reward those compliant taxpayers and also ruthlessly punish non-compliance,” he said.
