Wed, 05 Apr 2017 11:06:41 +0000 By CHIKUMBI KATEBE THE Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) has been dragged to court by the Zambia Seed Company Limited for failure to settle a debt of over K160, 000 for supply of seed. According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court, ZNFU has been accused of having acquired agricultural seeds on credit under the ZAMSEED general conditions of sale which provided for a settlement period of 30 days from date of collection. The seed company in its submissions explained that the Union has defaulted in payments from between 4th January, 2016 to 7th June, 2016 when they acquired the seeds which should have been cleared within one month. “The plaintiff sold and delivered the agricultural seeds to the defendant pursuant to the plaintiff’s general conditions of sale which provided for a thirty (30) days credit period, “Notwithstanding various demands made by the […]
