Mon, 19 Feb 2018 10:49:40 +0000 By LINDA SOKO TEMBO ZESCO has started the construction of a US$38 million substation in Mpika district to increase the power voltage in the region and surrounding areas. ZESCO spokesperson Henry Kapata said so far 60 percent of the works had been done on the 33/66kv substation. Speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Kapata said the US$38 million project started last year in December and he remained optimistic that the project would be completed by 2019. He explained that the new substation would have a transformer capacity of 180 Mega volt amp.
