Tue, 13 Feb 2018 08:10:21 +0000 By JOHN KOMBE A YOUNG man in his early twenties drowned on Santos dam in Chalimbana ward of Chongwe, area councillor Fredrick Shashi has disclosed. Mr. Shashi told the Daily Nation that the deceased, son of Mr and Mrs Mulusanda of Kabeleka village in Chalimbana went bird-hunting on the dam when he met his fate. “The young man went hunting on a dam known as Santos dam on DVR Agriculture farm, a privately owned farm. He used a canoe which capsized. He fell into the water and drowned after failing to swim and could not be seen for almost two days. His body has since been retrieved and has been buried” Mr. Shashi said. Mr. Shashi described the accident as very unfortunate. “The family of the deceased lost another child about a year ago in similar circumstances and so this is a blow to them and the community. […]
