Robert Tembo, 44, of Kabanana compound told the court that he told his wife to move out of the matrimonial bedroom because she denied him conjugal rights by sleeping in clothes. Tembo was testifying in a case in which his wife, Christine Tembo, 37, sued him for divorce. The two got married in 1997 and have three children. Christine told Senior Court Magistrate Miyanda Banda sitting with Magistrate Pauline Newa at Matero Local Court that they has been sleeping separately for two weeks now because he chased her from the bedroom after he told her that she had syphilis and was smelly.
