This plant will also provide a readily market for beans outgrowers in Muchinga province. According to the area Chief, Mathias Mphande, the setting up of the plant was meant to promote local beans to other countries, thereby providing a readily market for commodity outgrowers in Mbala. Chief Mphande explained that about 3,000 hectares had been set aside to grow beans while buying from farmers around the province. “We are going to set up a plant, it will be big and want to export beans as far as China and supply Zambia, Tanzania and Congo.
