Mr Moonga said some people were even sinking boreholes near graveyards. And Mr Moonga has advised government to introduce a national policy regulating the indiscriminate sinking of boreholes. Mr Moonga has observed that the outbreak of cholera was due to the indiscriminate sinking of boreholes especially in Lusaka following the reduced water as a result of works on the water plant. In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Moonga also confirmed that 80 percent of the source of water in Lusaka was contaminated owing to the uncontrolled sinking of boreholes.
