Thu, 01 Dec 2016 10:27:17 +0000 LAZ political agenda exposed Dear Editor, There was no single word from the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) when UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema called judges morons and not worthy of the gowns they were wearing. But there is now a stinging rebuke against Amos Chanda, special assistant to the President who has expressed concern at the political nature of decisions being made by the courts. Why is LAZ being selective in its responses? It is the same LAZ which joined forces with the UPND to challenge the tenure of Ministers after Parliament was dissolved. Instead of offering advice, the Association has chosen to politick and be confrontation against the ruling party and its Government. It is for this reason that I also support the proposal for a parallel legal professional body because LAZ has become too political.
