Mr. Ng’onga explained that the people in his constituency were saddened because only a few qualified teachers had been picked from his district and the rest were from the urban centres who used Kaputa only as an entry point. He said that when it came to teacher’s recruitment the district did not receive the adequate number of teachers it needed. In an interview with the Daily Nation the law maker said that even those that they received in the district from the urban centers did not stay long as soon as they started working they would request for transfers away from Kaputa. “Most urban teachers use Kaputa only as an entry point once they are selected normally they would not even go and stay there,” he said.
