Fri, 07 Apr 2017 11:47:38 +0000 By AARON CHIYANZO DAILY Nation Newspaper cartoonist Stillmatic has been entered into the “Freedom of Expression” International Cartoon Contest & Exhibition 2017 to be held in Norway as the only cartoonist representing Zambia. The contest which will see the participation of 515 cartoonists from 82 countries across the world who have since submitted a total of 1545 cartoons. Stillmatic, born Simon Nsaka is a self-taught editorial cartoonist inspired by South African cartoonist ‘Zapiro’, currently working for the Daily Nation newspaper. “South Africa’s Zapiro, a cartoonist I have never even met, inspired me a lot until I discovered my own cartooning technique,” he said. The 32-year-old cartoonist was awarded ‘best editorial cartoonist’ by Misa Zambia last year. Stillmatic has also participated in the 4th international cartoon gathering in Egypt, the 13th international cartoon contest in Syria and the 21st fax for peace 2017 in Italy.
