North-Western Province deputy commissioner of police Chola Katanga told the Daily Nation that the incident occurred yesterday around 18:00 hours at Kyawama market and identified the deceased as Mariana Mulaisho, 62. Mr Katanga explained that the incident occurred when the driver of the vehicle Toyota Corolla registration number 1286 Gift Kawaya lost control due to excessive speeding and hit into several pedestrians who were off the road. “Ms Mulaisho died on the spot after sustaining severe head injuries,” he said. He said others who survived injuries were Christine Chinyemba, 40, of Kyawama compound, Agnes Malonga, 40, Benson Mumba, 21, Kaima Malama, 41, all of Zambia compound.
