Police spokesperson Esther Katongo announced yesterday that Dr Chishimba, who was arrested on Thursday in Lusaka has been charged with defamation of the President contrary to section 69 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia. “Dr Saviour Chishimba, the UPP President has been charged with the Offence of Defamation of President contrary to section 69 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia. “He is still in police custody and is scheduled to appear in court within the course of next week,” she said.
