Mr Kalambalala said the people of Rufunsa do not have hydro power electricity and it was becoming expensive for them to continue using diesel. He said the district, being viable for farming and livestock keeping, farmers were being discouraged to venture into opening butcheries for fear that their meat could go bad. Mr Kalambalala said the project which is expected to be completed by July next year, will see the district with a lot of economic activities being opened up. He said the power will be supplied to the entire district which had been in the dark from time memorial, despite being only about 165 kilometres from the capital city, Lusaka.
