PSZ president David Banda said it was important to first establish the medical importance of marijuana as a drug before recommending it for use for that purpose. In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Banda said that a multi-coordinated group will look into the health benefits that will ascertain the safety of marijuana as a drug as the Ministry of Health earlier stated. “Some of our members are working on that to see how best we can carry out that research and once the research is concluded, the findings will determine whether to go the way the Ministry of Health suggests,” he said.
