The residents said they were living in fear following the temporal closure of Mtendere police post to facilitate rehabilitation which has contributed to a rise in crime. They also expressed concern over the delay in the rehabilitation of the police station. Mr Peter Mkambo of “D” section said since the closure of the police post, crime has increased and thugs have taken advantage of the situation. “There is need for concerted efforts to address the rising cases of crime in our compound, and we are worried over the delay in commencement of the rehabilitation of the police station,’’ Mr Mkambo said.
