Speaking when Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister, Ronald Chitotela, paid a courtesy call at her office over the weekend, Ms Chama said civil servants were facing chal- lenges in accessing decent housing and found themselves in grass thatched houses because the area was a rural set-up. Ms Chama said once the construction of 10 medium and 20 low cost houses were finished, then housing deficit among the civil servants would ease as most of them were covering long distances when reporting for work from their far-flung areas.
