Wed, 17 May 2017 10:16:08 +0000 By Jackson Mapapayi GOVERNMENT says it has strengthened surveillance on all entry points to North-Western Province after neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo reported new cases of Ebola. Ministry of Health provincial communicable diseases control specialist Dr. Evans Tulisha told the Daily Nation in an interview that although the risk of getting Ebola was low, it was important to remain on high alert. Dr. Tulisha disclosed that the Ebola response teams have been ativitated across the province. “We are aware of the Ebola cases in DRC and have since strengthened our port health activities in each district in the entire province,” Dr Tulisha said. He said they were also imparting health education to members of the public on the symptoms of Ebola so that anyone suspected of having the disease was quickly assisted.
