The directive was issued in Kitwe at the weekend by provincial permanent secretary Mr Elias Kamanga who said because of that conduct, examination results for Grades 9 and 12 had remained poor in the last three years. “It is disheartening to find that many teachers are frequenting shopping malls when they are supposed to be in classrooms imparting knowledge to their pupils; then you ask what time do they teach?” said Mr Kamanga. The permanent secretary called on head teachers to take their supervisory role seriously by ensuring that teachers were kept in classrooms.
