Mr Monde said that the UPND leadership was distancing itself from the recent boycott of President Lungu’s national address because it had backfired. He explained that UPND president Hakainde Hichilema was fond of chickening out from events he had instigated when they did not go as expected. Mr Monde who is former minister of Livestock and Fisheries said there was no doubt that Mr Nkombo was now controlling the party if he could single handedly instruct all UPND MPs to boycott the presidential address without the blessing of the top leadership of the party.
