Mwamba said discipline and hard work was required for sports men in the service to excel. He said this after the Zambia Army presented him the 2017 sports award in recognition of his valuable contributions and splendid performance. Mwamba hailed Zambia Army for honoring him with the award which he dedicated to his former trainer Vincent Mudenda.
