The affected students were those who sat for the 2016 academic year examination using Northern Technical College (NORTEC) in Ndola as their centre. A check at NORTEC, by the Daily Nation found the atmosphere had return to calm and students were just wandering about the campus. NORTEC Principal Victor Mulenga described the incident as unfortunate. Mr Mulenga, who confirmed the incident, said the fire started around 23.00 hours on Tuesday night in one of the store rooms.
