Thu, 11 Jan 2018 10:57:41 +0000 By JACK MAPAPAYI AS PART of logistical support towards the prevention of cholera within Solwezi district, Kansanshi Mining Company has donated 50 tons of hydrated lime which is about 2,500 X 25 kilograms bags valued at K70, 000. Speaking during cholera preparedness meeting at the Boma conference Hall today, Kansanshi Mine environmental manager Arnold Malambo said the lime would be used to disinfect pit latrines within Solwezi. Mr Malambo stated that the amount of lime was targeting about 10,000 households in the district. ‘’In terms of cholera prevention, as a mining company we have decided to join hands with the district health office as well as Solwezi Municipal council by donating 50 tons of lime towards the prevention of cholera in the district. ‘’So that is just part of the support besides the other support which we have given like fuel for information dissemination,’’ Mr Malambo said.
