At a press briefing, Ms Kasonde said that anyone who wished to form another association for legal practitioners was welcome because she was not aware of any constraints that prevented that. She however reiterated that LAZ in its current formation is a competent association. “LAZ embodies values in our motto which are justice, honour and integrity” she said. “The purpose of the association is to regulate the legal profession, to promote and protect the rule of law, constitutionalism, good governance and social justice, but anyone who wishes to form another association is welcome because she was not aware of any constrains.” Ms Kasonde pointed out that LAZ was not anti-government and that it was a nonpartisan association which stands on […]
