Bishop Mambo said President Chiluba’s status should be restored and his seized properties handed back to his family. He said it was sad for a man who had sacrificed so much for his country to be remembered negatively even after he had been cleared by the courts of all charges. Bishop Mambo told the Daily Nation that the church should not sit back and allow the injustice, as president Chiluba played a critical role towards the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation.
