Fri, 27 Oct 2017 11:55:22 +0000 By Rogers Kalero KITWE City Council on Wednesday set bailiffs on the Copperbelt University (CBU) and the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) in an attempt to recover close to K2 million owed to the local authority by the two institutions through unpaid land rates. The bailiffs confiscated three Toyota Hilux vehicles and one Toyota Hiace mini-bus from to recover the K1.5 million it was owed in unpaid land rates, while at ZNBC, the local authority confiscated three vehicles, a bus and two Toyota Hilux to recover K400,000 owed in unpaid land rates. Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe and Assistant Council Public Relations Manager Beauty Undi could not comment on the matter as they were locked up in a Plans and Works Development (PWD) meeting in the chamber.
