By KETRA KALUNGA THERE is no political inclination in the restructuring of Konkola Copper Mines (KCM).Management at the mining firm said the changes made in the operations of the company were not targeting specific individuals.United Party for National Development vice president, Mutale Nalumango yesterday claimed that KCM had been firing workers who supported the opposition.The mining firm however refuted the claims with Public Relations Manager, Victoria Kabwe Zimba, saying in a statement that it was not true that KCM had ensured that Patriotic Front leaders and councillors are left to cross over to the restructured KCM.Ms Zimba said that contrary to media reports, the ongoing re-organisation exercise was aimed at leveraging the available human resources for maximum productivity.“The company refutes these allegations with the contempt it deserves and wishes to put on record that there is no political inclination in the restructuring and reorganisation of KCM,” she said.She said the objective of the restructuring programme […]
