Mon, 24 Apr 2017 10:28:26 +0000 By JACK MAPAPAYI THE Ministry General Education should rehabilitate dilapidated schools in Kasempa for a better learning environment, says council chairman Stanley Kaindu. Mr Kaindu told the Daily Nation in an interview that most schools in the district were in disrepair, hence the need to rehabilitate them. He said some schools such as Kelongwa which was built in 1953 have since been closed due to poor school infrastructure forcing pupils to cover long distances to seek better schools while others have dropped out of school all together. “The school was closed in 2013 but up to now it has not been worked on, hence the appeal,” he said. He said schools such as Njenga, Shapenda, Jifumpa, Kivuku, Dengwe and Kalombe have dilapidated infrastructure which was posing a threat to pupils.
