Longwani Mwepu and Johnson Zulu, both from Kasengele area of Kafue have asked the Lusaka High Court for an interim injunction against the repossession of land duly allocated to them in 1998. According to the claims filed before court, the two complained that owing to the personal interests of a named local councilor, the council revoked their ownership of the small holder plots they owned upto 2010, which resulted in the demolition of a house constructed on the land. “Confusion began in 2011 when a new councilor was elected by the name of Upendo Nyendwa who began to demand that we surrender the land to him,” they explained.
