Beatrice Mwanza, a resident, complained that the hostels had one prepaid meter to carter for six blocks with 48 rooms. Ms Mwanza said that it was difficult for residents to manage water usage with such a large number of people using one meter. “This is why we are calling on the relevant authority to install more prepaid meters. “I think it is not conducive to have one prepaid meter in a shared arrangement like this one because people use water differently and thus we end up not having water almost on a daily basis because the users are just too many,” she said.
