At one stage, one of the escort vehicles with sirens and lights on attempted to nudge HH’s vehicles off the road but this was met with expletives from the body guards who were perched on both sides of the car. They shouted insults at the police. This contradicts a statement by UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma who suggested that HH and his convoy were not aware of the presidential motorcade, otherwise they would have given way.
