North-western Province permanent secretary Ephraim Mateyo said the move was in line with the government’s commitment to uplift the lives of rural people by investing in water and sanitation infrastructure. He said government was committed to ensuring that it met the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on access to safe and clean drinking water. ‘’These boreholes have since been handed over to the communities for use, Mr Mateyo said. The permanent secretary was speaking during a Provincial Development Coordinating committee meeting on Friday. He said in addition, a total of 37 institutional latrines had been constructed in seven districts which had also been handed over to the institutions.
